Important update regarding Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Cornwall Registration Service is following the guidelines provided by:

  • the Government
  • Public Health England (PHE)
  • the NHS

We recognise that this situation will change. As such, we are continually reviewing plans to respond to new advice from Government. We want to keep our communications as current as possible. To do this, we will be posting updates on our social media sites:

As we move forward over the following days and weeks we will update this information as appropriate.

Following the Prime Ministers announcement with information about the Roadmap and a step by step plan for easing restrictions in England we are able to confirm the following:

Step 1*(second stage)

No earlier than 29th March – weddings are no longer limited to ‘exceptional circumstances’ and will be able to take place with 6 attendees.

Step 2*

No earlier than 12th April - weddings, civil partnerships and receptions will be able to take place with up to 15 attendees (in premises that are permitted to open).

Step 3*

No earlier than 17th May - weddings, civil partnerships and receptions will be able to take place with up to 30 attendees.

Step 4*

No earlier than 21st June – weddings, civil partnerships and receptions will be able to take place without a limit on attendees.

*These dates are subject to review by the government – please see the gov.uk guidance for further details.

The numbers allowed to attend a ceremony include the couple, witnesses and guests. Those working, such as registration officials, photographers and venue managers are not included.

As a priority we are in the process of contacting all couples who have a ceremony booked with us up to and including 28th March to discuss their options.
