Community Renewal Fund

Organisations are being encouraged to submit their plans as part of a new fund. Plans must include ideas to help Cornwall’s towns and rural areas thrive and make the most of digital connectivity.

Government is providing Community Renewal Funding in 2021/22. This is in preparation for the Shared Prosperity Fund.

The Council has been chosen by Government as the Lead Authority.

They will be inviting project bids in line with two themes:

  • town centre and rural and coastal vitality
  • reducing the digital divide

Applications submitted by organisations must deliver innovation in delivering support for local businesses.

We are looking forward to receiving ideas that:

  • pave the way for future funding from the Shared Prosperity Fund for Cornwall

Successful UK Community Renewal Fund bids will be for 2021/22 only and activity must end in March 2022.

The themes of digital inclusion and town and rural vitality have been informed by local stakeholders. This is following identification of gaps in existing provision and to respond to COVID-19.

Cornwall Council intends to issue its open call for the Community Renewal Fund on 6 April 2021. Applications are to be submitted by 7 May 2021. A set of Frequently Asked Questions and an application form aligned to the national guidance will be available on this page soon.
