Cornwall Council Community Chest Crisis Scheme
The Community Chest gives grants to not-for-profit projects supporting local communities across Cornwall. Each Cornwall Councillor has a small grants budget for projects in their area. The main aim this year is to support projects responding to the Covid-19 pandemic.
We know that many small groups without a constitution are helping to respond to the crisis. We encourage these small groups to apply for a grant to support their local community work.
Groups with a constitution should first apply to Cornwall Community Foundation's Emergency Fund. Cornwall Council contributed £100,000 to the fund. Cornwall Community Foundation can offer grants between £1000 and £10,000.
The Community Chest may also be able to support:
- Groups that are facing funding issues due to the crisis
- Community projects that are not related to the crisis
To find out more, please email localism@cornwall.gov.uk. Please include brief details of your group and the work you are doing. We will then ask the Cornwall Councillor if they would like to support your project and have funds to do this. If so, we will ask you to complete a brief application form. We can also talk to you about the option to promote this as a crowdfunding project. We do this on the Crowdfund Cornwall website.
Please get in touch as soon as possible. The closing date for completed applications is 26 February 2021.
