Phoenix Services

Phoenix Services has been working across Cornwall since 2002 and is the external training arm of Cornwall Fire, Rescue and Community Safety (CFRCS) Service. Phoenix provides discretionary and commercial services supporting CFRCS Service core values, and our mission is “To provide high quality services that directly support the core values of CFRCS Service.”

Our Community Engagement and Commercial training courses are delivered at local community fire stations across Cornwall or at your premises if you have a large enough group.

Business Support

We offer support to businesses to assist you in producing your fire risk assessment and business continuity plans. 

The service includes a site visit to assess the current level of fire safety.  We provide you with a report to identify the areas needing to be recorded in the fire risk assessment.  We also provide supporting documentation that will assist you to complete the fire risk assessment for your business.

Safety and Education

We offer a variety of regulated and non-regulated courses in areas including fire safety, first aid and marine fire-fighting, all courses are delivered by our experienced and qualified trainers.

Our fire safety awards are all designed to ensure that your premises complies with your legal obligations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2015.

Our first aid courses are all designed to satisfy the first aid requirements set out by the Health & Safety Executive and Early Years for the Paediatric First Aid.

Driving Academy

We offer a range of driving courses for mini bus drivers , delivered by fully qualified and experienced driving instructors. Did you know that if you passed your test after January 1997 you may not be legally allowed to drive a 16 seater / 3.5 tonne mini bus and to fulfil your insurance obligation’s you must hold a category D1 licence.

We are also able to offer driver development training for those that regularly drive a vehicle for work, or may be identified as “high risk” drivers due to number of collisions, speeding convictions or a significant number of points on their licence.

Community Engagement and Training

Phoenix Community & Engagement is a pioneering community scheme across the duchy that utilises fire service training and activities to achieve positive goals.

We raise aspirations, improve teamwork and communication skills whilst motivating the learner to achieve their full potential, resulting in a positive impact for them and their communities.

Prince's Trust

Cornwall Fire, Rescue and Community Safety Service Prince’s Trust Team Programme aims to increase confidence, motivation and skills of young people to help enable them to move into employment, education, training, volunteering or apprenticeships.

What happens on the course?

If you sign up for the Team programme, you’ll be joining a group of up to 12 young people for your 13-week programme. Amongst other things you will:

  • Take on community projects of your choosing
  • Take part in an exciting, action-packed residential week
  • Get two weeks’ work experience in a field you are interested in
  • Take part in an exciting team challenge
