Callington is a 'On-Call' fire station and was built in May 2002.  

We welcome applications from anyone interested in becoming an on-call firefighter. All shortlisted applicants will be invited to an assessment interview (regardless of whether there is a vacancy at the station or not). Suitable applicants will be invited to the (twice yearly) assessment centres and if successful they will be placed in the Talent Pool to be selected for progression to the Approved to Ride Course as and when an appropriate vacancy at their Fire Station arises

Home fire safety checks are also offered and the crews regularly do home visits to listen to any concerns, give advice and fit and maintain free smoke alarms to properties where required. The area covers the main road, A388, from St. Mellion to Wooda Bridge, near Treburley and the A390 Gunnislake to St. Ive Square. In total, Callington Fire Station covers about 100 square miles.
