Looe is an on-call fire station, located in the middle of West Looe.

We welcome applications from anyone interested in becoming an on-call firefighter. All shortlisted applicants will be invited to an assessment interview (regardless of whether there is a vacancy at the station or not). Suitable applicants will be invited to the (twice yearly) assessment centres and if successful they will be placed in the Talent Pool to be selected for progression to the Approved to Ride Course as and when an appropriate vacancy at their Fire Station arises

For more information and to apply to become an on-call firefighter, please visit our Service Careers recruitment pages and/or call our Resourcing Team on 01872 323800.

Looe Community Fire Station roughly covers the area from Polperro and Pelynt in the West to Downderry in the East and Duloe to the North.

The highest risk in the area covered by Looe is predominately a sleeping risk. Looe is a popular holiday and retirement centre, compounded by the local geography with steep hills and narrow streets making it difficult to access many properties. The roads are extremely busy during the summer months which often causes a relatively high number of road traffic collisions (RTC's).
