Torpoint is an on-call fire station, which is located at the end of a peninsula in South East Cornwall. 

We welcome applications from anyone interested in becoming an on-call firefighter. All shortlisted applicants will be invited to an assessment interview (regardless of whether there is a vacancy at the station or not). Suitable applicants will be invited to the (twice yearly) assessment centres and if successful they will be placed in the Talent Pool to be selected for progression to the Approved to Ride Course as and when an appropriate vacancy at their Fire Station arises

Community schemes include 'Free Home Fire Safety Checks', working with local schools and supporting local youth groups such as the Cubs and Brownies by providing interactive and educational opportunities.

The station ground is bordered by the River Tamar to the East and extends as far as Polbathic and Portwrinkle to the East and to the River Lynher in the North.

Risks include the Tamar Ferries to Plymouth, Bulk Fuel Depot for ships using Devonport Dockyard, the Royal Navy's Shore Training Establishment at HMS Raleigh and providing support to the City of Plymouth and the Dockyard.
