You can find out more about our upcoming recruitment opportunities and learn from members of staff what it’s like to be a part of our service. Get a taste of what it’s like to be a firefighter and try out some of the physical practical tests.

These events are open to all potential applicants.

As an inclusive service we encourage applications and attendance from people who identify as LGBTQI+ and/or are women and/or are from a minority ethnic background. The awareness event will give applicants from these groups a chance to meet with current member of CFRS who identify as one of the above.

The role of a firefighter is continually changing to meet the constant new challenges that face the fire and rescue service nationally and our local community.

You do not have to attend a session to apply to become a firefighter - this is your opportunity to find out more about the role and the service by talking to current serving firefighters. We will also be available to discuss the recruitment process with you.

All Awareness Events will be listed from the Service events and campaigns web page.
