Towns Fund

100 towns across England to benefit from the new Towns Fund. Details are not announced yet but there are 4 towns in Cornwall identified for this support. These are St Ives, Penzance, Camborne and Truro.

Grants of up to £2,000 are available in support of exceptionally talented young musicians who are between the ages of 5 and 17 years old. The funding can help with:

  • The purchase or hire of musical instruments or accessories.
  • Music lessons
  • Music courses
  • Orchestra fees
  • Travel

Award payments are made to institutions, music organisations, music teachers or suppliers and are made for youngsters from families who are struggling to pay for the next key step in the applicants musical progression.

Funding of between £300 and £10,000 is available for sports projects in England. The sport must be recognised by Sport England. The project must be for new activity or costs associated with helping more people play sport.

Grants are available to individuals or charitable organisations working with children and young people, particularly those disadvantaged by poverty and/or sickness. Applications can be made at any time in writing to:

Small grants of £1,000-£10,000

Main grants scheme of £10,000 with no upper limit

Projects must be:

  • delivered in a core area 
  • be eligible under ERDF and ESF rules.
  • deliver at least one priority and objective
  • Not duplicate existing provision

These funds are managed through 4 Local Action Groups across Cornwall which each have their own priorities. All information can be found in the Community Led Local Development Cornwall webpages

The Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund provides grants for building or refurbishing grassroots facilities, such as changing pavilions and playing surfaces for community benefit, with money provided by the Premier League, The FA and the Government (via Sport England) and delivered by the Foundation.  The Fund is available to football clubs, schools, councils and local sports associations and gives grants for projects that:

  • Improve facilities for football and other sport in local communities.
  • Sustain or increase participation amongst children and adults, regardless of background age, or ability.
  • Help children and adults to develop their physical, mental, social and moral capacities through regular participation in sport.

Grants are available for between £10,000 and £500,000.
