2011 Census
Every ten years the Office for National Statistics carries out a Census of the population.
The most recent Census took place on Sunday 27th March 2011. The next census in England and Wales will be in 2021.
A questionnaire was sent to 25 million households in England and Wales and included topics such as work, health, ethnicity, education, second homes, religion, marital status, language, travel to and from work and car ownership.

The data is published on the Office for National Statistics website. Data for small areas, for example electoral divisions is published on Neighbourhood Statistics.
