The my area page allows you to view Council and health services in your area including your councillor, waste and recycling collection dates and your nearest library, one stop shop and waste and recycling centre.

To find services for your area, enter your postcode and select ‘Find’. Then select your address from the drop down list and select ‘View my area’.

You can access the my area page using the box on our homepage and on the right of each web page.

We’ve made our navigation simpler. When you select a specific section of our website, you will only see the pages for that section. To view different sections of the website, select ‘Home Page’ and you will be taken back to the homepage.

If you register for a website account with us, you can manage your library account, comment on planning applications, and change your details and password plus even more in the future.

To create a website account, click on ‘Register’ at the top right of any of our web pages. Complete the form on the register page and select ‘Create User’. You will then be sent an activation email to active your account and once activated you can then log on to our website using the email address and password you’ve chosen.

We’ll keep your private details safe and secure, but we may use your postcode to help you find information about your local area on our website.

We’ve added top level search results for some of our most frequently requested search terms. This means we show the most frequently viewed pages against a pink background at the top of the search results. For example, if you entered ‘planning’ in the search box, the top level search results would include the online planning register and the main planning pages since these are the ones most people go to when looking for planning information.

To print one of our web pages, select ‘Print this page’ at the top right of the page.

To email one of our web pages, select ‘Email this page’ at the top right of the page. Then add your details and the details of the person you want to send the page to and select ‘Send’.

You can use our mobile site to browse our website on your mobile phone, allowing you to access our services from anywhere.

The homepage includes top tasks and an A-Z of our services. There’s also a search to help you find specific information.

We know there are some issues and we’re working to fix these:

  • videos may not play on some phones
  • some embedded content may not display on some phones
  • the page path may wrap to two lines on some phones

Please send us feedback on how it works for you using the contact details on the right of this page.

We’ve included videos across the website and on the homepage.  These use streaming technology, so you can watch different parts of the video without having to download the entire file.  There is a page that lists all the Cornwall Council videos.

RSS or news feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines and content in one place, as soon as it’s published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

To subscribe to a news feed, you need a news reader. This is a piece of software that checks the feeds and lets you read any new articles that have been added. Some are accessed using a browser and others are downloadable applications.

Browser-based news readers let you catch up with your RSS feed subscriptions from any computer. Downloadable applications store them on your main computer.

We have RSS feeds for our latest news and for meeting information:

You can subscribe to our news feed to receive our news releases as they are published.

You can subscribe to our meetings feed to receive information on meetings, agendas and minutes as they are published. Each meeting also has its own RSS feed you can subscribe to for information specific to that meeting.
