Elmar - Team Leader

Elmar trained as an IT professional at Deutsche Bank, a leading global investment bank, at their offices in London before joining the Council in September 2015. Elmar obtained degrees in Computer Science and Management Studies at the University of Cambridge and a Masters degree in International Management from King's College London.

Elmar's areas of expertise include:

Steve

Steve trained in IT at Cornwall College, and for sixteen years worked in network administration and management in both the public and private sector. His experience includes assisting in the migration of Brannel School’s computer network from its old school to its new build. He then went on to manage the network for a further five years. During that time he gained valuable experience in managing and maintaining the school’s SIMS system.

Steve joined the IMS team in December 2016 following a recruitment initiative to reinforce the technical expertise within the team.

Ellie

Prior to moving to Cornwall, Ellie worked as a Fleet Manager for a multi-national communications company also specialising in payroll and HR. She moved to Cornwall in 2006 and started work in a secondary school as a Data Manager, supporting the school and colleagues in all areas of SIMS including Exams and student data.

Lorna

Lorna spent 12 years working in schools, most recently as SIMS Manager in a local Secondary School. She brings a wealth of knowledge of all aspects of SIMS and related issues and has a thorough understanding of the ‘pressure points’ that school staff encounter, at different times of the school year.

She aims to use her knowledge to help ‘troubleshoot’ immediate issues and to train and encourage schools to make the full use of SIMS, in order to develop systems that will streamline processes and deliver powerful data for School Leaders.

“I am a bit of a puzzle solver and really enjoy this aspect of my role. SIMS can be a real challenge: it is constantly evolving to keep abreast of the changing needs of its users, so this keeps me on my toes! Most of all, I really enjoy ‘spreading the word’ – getting out there, meeting our customers and ensuring they are getting the most out of their SLA, and out of SIMS.”

Matt

Matt has worked in IT for 22 years, half of which was spent in both Secondary and Primary schools providing everything from user training and support through to network administration. His experience includes assisting in the upgrading of two major site-wide educational networks, running computer training for school staff and parents, providing friendly email and phone support and also writing and publishing reports in a number of formats.

Matt joined the IMS Team in June 2019.
