Early Years Service Autism and Communication
Who do we work with?
We offer support and intervention for children showing behaviours which indicate they may have an autistic spectrum disorder or social communication difficulty. We provide a graduated approach towards supporting children with a diagnosis of Autism or who may be referred and considered for a diagnosis, (ie displaying significant social communication difficulties), to help them access the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Where is the service delivered?
The Early Years Autism Support worker will visit your child’s early years setting or see you at home.
What should I expect from the Early Years Autism and Social Communication Support Worker when they work with my child?
We may offer a light touch intervention, offering advice on Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) or introducing specific resources and strategies, or a higher level intervention, for example direct work and support with your child and early years practitioners, home based work and visual training, under the guidance of the Senior Locality SENCo, Educational Psychologist.
