All fishing vessels must be registered and inspected before 31 December 2020. This is if they are to continue exporting their catch to the EU after Brexit. This is due to the need for traceability. If you do not register your vessel you will not be able to export your catch to the EU, either directly or indirectly, from 1 January 2021.

In Cornwall, the inspecting and registering authority is Cornwall Port Health Authority.

Registration and inspection is via a self-assessment questionnaire for under 10m vessels. If you have more than one vessel, you need to complete a separate questionnaire for each.
