  • The internal and partner consultation ran during January and February 2014.
  • The public consultation period ran during June and July 2014.
  • The document was adopted by Cornwall Council's Cabinet on 5 Novemer 2014.

The document outlines the responsibilities of the Risk Management Authorities in Cornwall and how they are working in partnership to coordinate local flood risk management. This covers everything from engaging with communities and preparing for floods, responding to flood events, collaborating on flood risk studies and investing in flood improvements.

Cornwall Council is the Lead Local Flood Authority for Cornwall and has produced this strategy in accordance with the requirements of the Flood and Water Management Act 2010. It consists of a collection of documents.

Part 1 of the Strategy is the overview and vision. Part 2 is a series of local flood risk profiles for our highest risk communities. These will be living documents that will evolve over time through data sharing with the communities and other organisations. We will make these publically available through our web pages as they develop. Part 3 is an annual report, the first of which is anticipated for 2014.
