In 2014, Camelford Town Council agreed to develop a Neighbourhood Plan for the area at a Town Council Meeting. This webpage provides you with information on the Camelford Neighbourhood Development Plan.
Neighbourhood Plan Referendum
The Camelford Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan cannot proceed to Referendum until 6 May 2021 or the current circumstances change due to the Covid-19 crisis as set out by Central Government.
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government have updated planning guidance to set out that neighbourhood plans awaiting referendum can be given significant weight in decision-making. The implementation date for Camelford NDP is the 2nd November 2020.

Plan Proposal Consultation
The Camelford Neighbourhood Development Plan was formally submitted to Cornwall Council on 11 October 2019. Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the plan for the Camelford Parish area between Thursday 14 November 2019 and 9 January 2020 for eight weeks due to the Christmas period. You can view the representations received on the planning register (PA19/00027/NDP).
The plan proposal includes a copy of a map and statement which identifies the area to which the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan relates; a consultation statement; the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan and a statement explaining how the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan meets the requirements of paragraph 8 of Schedule 4B to the 1990 Act (the Basic Conditions Statement).

Neighbourhood Area Designation
Camelford Town Council submitted an application and map to designation their Neighbourhood Area. This was submitted on 11th December 2014. Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the designation. The consultation ran between 7th January and 18th February 2015. Copies of the application letter and statement were made available to view during the six week consultation. The statement explains how the Town Council and Neighbourhood Area met the conditions of Section 61G(2) of the Town And Country Planning Act 1990. Documents were available from Camelford Library and One Stop Shop. Copies of the documents are available to download below.
