Chacewater Parish Council agreed to develop a Neighbourhood Plan for the area at a Parish Council Meeting. This page provides you with information on the Chacewater Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan.
Neighbourhood Plan Adoption
The Chacewater Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan is now formally made and can be used from 5 November 2019, as part of the development plan in development management decisions in the Chacewater Neighbourhood Plan Area. Neighbourhood Plan Referendum
Chacewater Neighbourhood Plan Referendum was held on 17th October 2019. The plan was successful at referendum and the result was:
- Number cast in favour of 'Yes': 349
- Number cast in favour of 'No': 19

Consultation on proposed alterative modifications
Consultation on proposed alterative modifications to the Chacewater Neighbourhood Development Plan following independent examination
Following the receipt of the Examiner’s report in respect of the Chacewater Neighbourhood Development Plan, Cornwall Council has published its Decision on the Examiner’s Recommendations on the plan.
The Council’s decision was to make a number of alternative modifications to those recommended by the Examiner. Cornwall Council was required to publish the alternative modifications for a six week consultation period in line with Regulation 17A of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) and Development Management Procedure (Amendment) Regulations 2016. Only comments relating to the alternative modifications will be accepted.
The consultation ran between Thursday 11th July and 22nd August 2019. Representations could have been recieved through the online planning register by entering the planning number PA19/00017/NDP.
Hard copies of the documents were available to view online through Cornwall Council’s website, or at The Kings Head Hotel, St Paul's Church, The Old Market, Chacewater Fish and Chip Shop, The Twelveheads Methodist Church and Blackwater Village Hall during the consultation.

Neighbourhood Plan Examination
The independent examiner appointed to examine the Chacewater Parish Neighbourhood Plan is Deborah McCann. The documents were sent to the examiner on 14 February 2019 to start the examination. The Council received the final Examination report on 8th May 2019.
The Council’s has made a decision with the agreement of Chacewater Parish Council to make a number of alternative modifications to those recommended by the Examiner. These alternative modifications are shown in a table of modifications. A six week consultation will shortly be undertaken on the proposed alternative modifications and further details will be published when available.

Neighbourhood Plan Statutory Consultation
Chacewater Parish Council submitted their plan proposal to Cornwall Council for their designated Neighbourhood Development Plan Area, in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 (as amended).
Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the plan for the Chacewater Parish area. The consultation ran between Thursday 20 December 2018 and 7 February 2019 for seven weeks due to the consultation covering the Christmas period. During the consultation, you could submit comments through the online planning register using planning number PA18/00021/NDP.
The plan proposal includes a copy of a map and statement which identifies the area to which the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan relates; a consultation statement; the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan, a statement explaining how the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan meets the requirements of paragraph 8 of Schedule 4B to the 1990 Act (the Basic Conditions Statement), the Local Landscape Character Assessment.
Copies of the documents were available to view at Chacewater Village Hall, Chacewater Bowling Club, Chacewater Health Centre, Blackwater Village Hall and Twelveheads Methodist Church during the consultation period.

Neighbourhood Area Designation
Chacewater Parish Council has applied to Cornwall Council to designate the parish of Chacewater as a Neighbourhood Area. This is in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012 (amended).
Under the amended Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2016, Neighbourhood area designations are not required to go out to consultation before a decision is made, if the Neighbourhood area covers the whole of the Parish Boundary.
