Gwennap Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan
The parish council resolved to develop a plan for the Gwennap designated neighbourhood area. This was agreed at a council meeting on 16 June 2016. This page provides you with information on the Gwennap Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan.
Neighbourhood Plan Adoption
Gwennap Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan is now formally made and can be used from 12 March 2020, as part of the development plan in development management decisions in Gwennap Neighbourhood Plan Area. The adopted neighbourhood plan, report and decision notice is available to download below:

Neighbourhood Plan Referendum
The Gwennap Parish NDP referendum was held on 27 February 2020. The plan was successful at referendum and the result was:
- Number cast in favour of a 'Yes': 314
- Number cast in favour of a 'No': 59

Neighbourhood Plan Examination
The Gwennap Neighbourhood Plan has been successful at examination. The independent examiner appointed to carry out the examination was Liz Beth. The information was sent to the examiner on 13 June 2019 and Cornwall Council received the examination report on 20 August 2019.

Neighbourhood Plan Proposal Consultation
Gwennap Parish Council formally submitted their neighbourhood plan and supporting documents to Cornwall Council on 5 March 2019.
Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the plan for the Gwennap Parish area. The Consultation ran between Thursday 4 April 2019 and 16 May 2019 for a six week consultation period. During the consultation, you could comment by e-mail, or by typing the Neighbourhood Planning application number PA19/00010/NDP into the online planning register. copies of the documents were available to view at Gwennap Parish Rooms and the Cornish Arms during the consultation.
The plan proposal included a copy of a map and statement which identifies the area to which the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan relates; a consultation statement; the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan, a statement explaining how the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan meets the requirements of paragraph 8 of Schedule 4B to the 1990 Act (the Basic Conditions Statement), a Local Landscape Character Assessment, a Design guide, a Delivery strategy document, an Equality Impact Assessment and a Housing Needs Analysis Report.

Neighbourhood Area Designation
Gwennap Parish Council applied to Cornwall Council to designate the parish of Gwennap as a Neighbourhood Area. This is in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012.The Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the designation of this area between Thursday 7 July and 18 August 2016 and the documents are available to download below:
Copies of the applications were available to download from the Online Planning Register during the consultation period. (Planning application number PA16/00008/NDP). Hard copies were available at Cusgarne Community Primary School and the Cornish Arms.
