Lanner Parish Council agreed to develop a Neighbourhood Plan for the area at a Parish Council Meeting. This webpage provides you with information on the Lanner Neighbourhood Development Plan.
Neighbourhood Plan Adopted
Lanner Neighbourhood Development plan is now formally made and can be used from 11 March 2019. This is part of the development plan in development management decisions in the Lanner Neighbourhood Plan Area. The adopted neighbourhood plan, report and decision notice are available to download below:
Neighbourhood Plan Referendum
The Lanner NDP Referendum was held on 21 February 2019.The plan was successful at referendum and the result was:
- Number cast in favour of a 'Yes': 404
- Number cast in favour of a 'No': 72

Neighbourhood Plan Examination
The Lanner Neighbourhood Development Plan was submitted for examination on 7 September 2018. The independent examiner appointed to carry out the examination is Barbara Maksymiw.
An initial assessment of the neighbourhood plan, background evidence and representations was completed. Following this, the examiner raised a number of initial questions. The questions, responses and additional information can be viewed below.

On 6 November 2018, Cornwall Council received the Examiner's report on the Lanner Neighbourhood Development Plan. The Examiner's report concludes that subject to the modifications in the report, the Plan should proceed to referendum. Neighbourhood Plan Statutory Consultation
Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the plan proposal for the Lanner Parish area. The consultation ran from Thursday 26 July to Thursday 6 September 2018.
The plan proposal included:
- a copy of a map and statement which identifies the area to which the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan relates
- a consultation statement; the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan and
- a statement explaining how the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan meets the requirements of paragraph 8 of Schedule 4B to the 1990 Act (the Basic Conditions Statement)
Copies of the documents were available to view using the online planning register. (Planning number PA18/00014/NDP). Hard copies were available to view at:

Neighbourhood Area Designation
Lanner Parish Council has applied to Cornwall Council to designate the parish of Lanner as a Neighbourhood Area. This is in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations 2012.
The Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the designation of this area. The consultation ran between Thursday 25 August and 6 October 2016.
Copies of the applications were available to download from the Planning Register. (Planning application number PA16/00013/NDP.) Hard copies were available to view during the consultation period at:
- Lanner Parish Office and
- Lanner Post Office
The documents included:
- a copy of the application letter
- a map, and
- a statement that explains how the Parish Council and area meet the conditions of Section 61G(2) of the Town and Country Planning Act (1990) amended by the Localism Act 2011
