Lezant Neighbourhood Development Plan
The parish council agreed to develop a Neighbourhood Plan for the Lezant area. This was agreed at a Parish Council Meeting held on 5 May 2015. This webpage provides you with information on the Lezant Neighbourhood Development Plan.
Neighbourhood Plan Adoption
Lezant Neighbourhood Development Plan is now formally made and can be used from 11 March 2020 as part of the development plan in development management decisions in Lezant Neighbourhood Plan Area. The adopted neighbourhood plan, report and decision notice is available to download below:

Neighbourhood Plan Referendum
The Lezant NDP referendum was held on 27 February 2020. The plan was successful at referendum and the result was:
- Number cast in favour of a 'Yes': 217
- Number cast in favour of a 'No': 21

Neighbourhood Plan Examination
The Lezant Neighbourhood Development Plan has been successful at examination. The independent examiner appointed was Deborah McCann. The information was sent to the examiner on 1st October to start the examination and the examination report was recieved on 15th November 2019.

Statutory 6 Week Consultation on Plan Proposal
The Lezant Neighbourhood Development Plan was formally submitted to Cornwall Council on 8 July 2019. Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the plan for the Lezant Parish area. The consultation ran between Thursday 15 August and 26 September 2019 for a six week period. The plan proposal includes:

- Lezant NDP Consultation Statement
- Lezant NDP Basic Conditions Statement
- Lezant Parish Design Guide
- Lezant Character Statement
- Lezant NDP Sustainability Check
- Lezant NDP Legal Compliance Report
- Lezant NDP Legal Compliance Check
- Lezant NDP Plan Proposal Decision Notice
Hard copies of the documents were available to view at Tre Pol Farm Shop, Launceston Library and Information Service during the consultation period. The documents were available to view online through the planning register using Planning application number PA19/00020/NDP.
Neighbourhood Area Designation
Lezant Parish Council submitted an application and map to designation their Neighbourhood Area on 7 October 2015. Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the designation. The consultation ran from 15 October to 26 November 2015. Copies of the application letter and statement were made available to view during the six week consultation period. The statement explains how the Parish Council and Neighbourhood Area met the conditions of Section 61G(2) of the Town And Country Planning Act 1990. Documents were available from:
- Launceston Library and One Stop Shop
- Callington Library and
- Callington One Stop Shop
