The Ludgvan Neighbourhood Development Plan Referendum scheduled to be held on 2 April 2020 has been postponed until further notice. Regulations linked to the Coronavirus Act 2020 mean that no elections or referendums can take place until 6 May 2021. This includes neighbourhood planning referendums. These provisions will be kept under review and may be amended or revoked in response to changing circumstances. 

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government have updated the current planning guidance to set out that neighbourhood plans awaiting referendums can be given significant weight in decison-making.

The Ludgvan Neighbourhood Plan was successful at examination. The Independent examiner appointed was John Slater. The information was sent to the examiner on the 6 October 2019. The final examination report was received on the 21 December 2019.

An initial assessment of the neighbourhood plan, background evidence and representations was completed. Following this, the examiner raised a number of initial questions. The questions and responses can be viewed below.

The Ludgvan Neighbourhood Development Plan was formally submitted to Cornwall Council on 12th July 2019. Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the plan for the Ludgvan Parish area. The consultation  ran between Thursday 15th August and 26th September 2019 for a six week period. The plan proposal includes:

Hard copies of the documents were available to view at Ludgvan Community Centre, Murley Memorial Hall, Gilbert Hall, the Mexico Inn, The Watermill or through the online planning register, by typing the Neighbourhood Planning application number PA19/00019/NDP during the consultation period.

Ludgvan Parish Council submitted an application and map to designation their Neighbourhood Area. This was submitted on 25 February 2015. Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the designation. The consultation ran from 5 March 2015 to 16 April 2015. Copies of the application letter and statement were made available to view from Penzance One Stop Shop. The statement explains how the Parish Council and Neighbourhood Area met the conditions of Section 61G(2) of the Town And Country Planning Act 1990. The documents can be downloaded below:
