Rame Peninsula Neighbourhood Development Plan
A group of parish councils have agreed to develop a Neighbourhood Development Plan as a cluster of Parishes. The cluster known as the Rame Peninsula includes the following parishes:
- Maker with Rame
- Millbrook
- St John
- Sheviock and
- Anthony Parish Council

Neighbourhood Plan Adoption
The Rame Peninsula Neighbourhood Development Plan is now formally made. It can be used from 28 June 2017 as part of the development plan in development management decisions in the Rame Peninsula Neighbourhood Plan Area. The adopted neighbourhood plan, report and decision notice is available to download below:

Neighbourhood Plan Referendum
The Referendum for the Rame Peninsula Neighbourhood Development Plan was held on Thursday 4th May 2017. The Plan was successful at Referendum and the result was:
- Number cast in favour of a 'Yes' : 1834
- Number cast in favour of a 'No' : 241

Neighbourhood Plan Examination
The Rame Peninsula Neighbourhood Plan went to examination on the 6th December 2016. The independent examiner appointed to examine the draft Neighbourhood Plan was Deborah McCann. Ms McCann recommended that the plan meets the Basic Conditions subject to a number of modifications. The Council’s decision was to accept the proposed modifications and approve the Plan. Neighbourhood Plan Statutory Consultation
Millbrook Parish Council formally submitted the Rame Peninsula Neighbourhood Development Plan to Cornwall Council. This was for their designated Neighbourhood Plan area. It covers the Parishes of
- Antony
- Maker with Rame
- Millbrook
- Sheviock and
- St John
This is in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.
Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the Rame Peninsula plan proposal. This was for the following Parish areas:
- Antony
- Maker with Rame
- Millbrook
- Sheviock and
- St John
The consultation ran between Friday 14 October and 25 November 2016. Hard copies of the documents were available to view during the consultation period. Documents were available from:
- Crafthole Community Shop
- Millbrook Village Hall and
- Maker with Rame Parish Council Office
The plan proposal includes:
- a copy of a map and statement which identifies the area to which the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan relates
- a consultation statement
- the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan
- a statement explaining how the proposed Neighbourhood Development Plan meets the requirements of paragraph 8 of Schedule 4B to the 1990 Act (the Basic Conditions Statement)
- a Consultation statement
- sustainability appraisal and
- Evidence summary document

Neighbourhood Area Designation
In October 2012, Cornwall Council received an application and a map of the Neighbourhood Area for the Rame Peninsula. This was received from each Parish Council within the cluster. Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the designation. The consultatuion ran between 23 November 2012 and Friday 11 January 2013. Copies of the application letter and statement were made available to view during the six week consultation period. The statement explains how the Parish Council’s and Neighbourhood Area met the conditions of Section 61G(2) of the Town And Country Planning Act 1990. Documents were available from Liskeard One Stop Shop. Copies of the documents are available to download below:
