Roche Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan

Roche Parish Council agreed to develop a Neighbourhood Plan for the Roche area. This was agreed at a Parish Council Meeting held on 11 June 2014. This webpage provides you with information on the Roche Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan.

The Roche Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan is now formally made. It can be used from 28 June 2017, as part of the development plan in development management decisions in the Roche Neighbourhood Plan Area. The adopted neighbourhood plan, report and decision notice is available to download below:

The Referendum for the Roche Parish Neighbourhood Development Plan was held on Thursday 4 May 2017. The Plan was successful at Referendum and the result was:

  • Number cast in favour of a 'Yes' : 1044
  • Number cast in favour of a 'No' : 134

The Roche Neighbourhood Development Plan was submitted for examination on 1 November 2016. The independent examiner appointed to carry out the examination was Deborah McCann. Ms McCann recommended that the plan meets the Basic Conditions subject to a number of modifications. The Council’s decision was to accept the proposed modifications and approve the Plan. The Neighbourhood Development Plan examination report and amended Neighbourhood Plan is available to download below:

Roche Parish Council formally submitted their plan proposal for their designated Neighbourhood Development Plan Area. It was submitted to Cornwall Council on 9th May 2016. This is in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.

Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the plan proposal and Strategic Environmental Assessment Report for the Roche Parish Neighbourhood area. The consultation period ran between 13 July and 24 August 2016. Hard copies of the documents were available to view at Roche Post Office during the consultation period. An electronic copy was available through Cornwall Council's online planning register. (Planning application number PA16/00009/NDP.)

  • the Habitat Regulations Assessment Report and
  • the evidence base information which includes a number of appendices 

Roche Parish Council submitted an application and map to designation their Neighbourhood Area. This was submitted on 16 July 2014. Cornwall Council consulted residents and other interested stakeholders on the designation. The consultation ran between 23 July and 3 September 2014. Copies of the application letter and statement were made available to view during the six week consultation period. The statement explains how the Parish Council and Neighbourhood Area met the conditions of Section 61G(2) of the Town And Country Planning Act 1990.
