Increase in Fees for discretionary products and services

Please note from the 1 January 2021.  The fees for our discretionary products and services have increased.  The majority of our discretionary fees have increased by 4%. But certain products may have increased more, due to a cost recovery basis.

These prices have been set below the national average, as charged by other Authorities for similar products/services.

We offer a range of services which answer frequently asked questions.

Services include:

  • Confirmation of use class
  • Confirmation of planning restrictions such as occupancy/use restrictions

Pay for your planning application online

Telephone 0300 1234 151. Lines are open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm

The telephone automated service can only be used when the planning reference is known e.g. PA20/01234.  As it requires a 10-digit pin.  The pin in this example would be entered as follows **20*01234.  If you are paying for a pre-application service where the reference number has the PREAPP suffix.  The suffix should be removed and entered in the same way as indicated above.

By BACS or bank transfer

Telephone 0300 1234 151 to get our BACS details to make a payment. Lines are open Monday to Friday 9am-5pm

By cheque 

Please note that as of 1 January 2019 we will no longer accept cheques as payment for planning applications. Please use our online payment or card payment systems. You can call us on 0300 1234 151 if you need help with a payment.

If you submit an application via the Planning Portal.  Any fees due must be paid to the Planning Portal, not Cornwall Council.

Without this payment, the Portal will not release your application to the Council.  And we are unable to transfer any payments which may have been made to us in error.  Any payments received in error will be refunded, which could delay your application.
