Visit a waste or recycling facility

In Cornwall there are two education centres for you to visit - these venues, run by SUEZ on behalf of Cornwall Council, are at the Cornwall energy recovery centre (CERC) near St Dennis and the Bodmin materials recycling facility (MRF).

Both sites welcome visits from schools, universities and community groups and offer a presentation, tours and hands on interactive displays to help attendees better understand the world of waste.

If you're a school SUEZ can also cover the cost of transport - ask about this when you make your booking.

Unfortunately tours can only take place during the working day.

If you’ve ever wondered what happens at the Bodmin materials recycling facility or how waste is turned into energy at the Cornwall Energy Recovery Centre, you are welcome to attend an open day as an individual.

Register your interest in attending an open day and you'll receive notification when one is taking place.

For both group and individual bookings to see how waste and recycling is processed in Cornwall - book a visit
