Karrie Fox

Since turning 60, Karrie has won the Cornish Tri Series for females over 60, represented Great Britain in the Triathlon World Championship, run the London Marathon, completed the Great North swim and cycled from John O’Groats to Land’s End with Fern Britton, amongst a host of other fantastic achievements.

Speaking about her remarkable achievements, Karrie explains."My over 60s have been amazing! Yet no one told me that they could be and I want to pass that nugget of information on to everyone else - especially those who are dreading the big 6-0!"

Karrie is a regular runner and continues to run with the Falmouth Road Runners who she describes as, "a group that has given me support in whatever I do and several close friends."

Alongside this, Karrie has recently joined the Cornwall Search and Rescue team, spending the last year training with them. "I'm currently on a programme to learn first aid, technical rope rescue, water rescue and search techniques. I have been with them for just over a year and am now a qualified full call out member.

It's physically and mentally demanding, but I love it and it's a chance to 'give something back'. I work as part of a dedicated team of volunteers of all ages and skills."

As she looks ahead to her 70s, Karrie's appetite for life show no signs of slowing down. "With less than two years to go until my big 7-0, I am just keeping my fingers crossed that it continues to get better and better."
