Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) 2018-21

From 1 April 2013, every Health and Wellbeing Board (HWB) in England has a statutory responsibility to publish a statement of the needs for pharmaceutical services of the population in its area. This statement a Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment (PNA) must kept up to date.

Every 3 years we work with our partners (through the Health and Wellbeing Board) to produce a PNA. The PNA looks at current pharmaceutical service provision across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Ensuring the service meets current and future needs of the population. Further identifying any potential gaps in the service.

The final Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2018/21 concludes:

  • the current provision is suitable for residents
  • there is sufficient capacity in the system to meet the needs of the population over the next 3 years.
