Login to renew my items online

You can also renew your items by phone 0845 607 6119 (find out about call charges) or at your local branch library or by phoning 0300 1234 111 Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 6pm.


You can renew books up to five times before we need to see them. If you still require the books you should bring them to the library for re-issuing. Books that have been reserved by another library customer will only be renewed for an additional week.

CDs, DVD and computer games

CDs, DVDs and computer games hired from the library are not renewable. If you require them for longer than the hire period, you will have to pay for each additional week (or part week) that you keep them.

What you can borrow

  • Cornwall library members may borrow upto 18 items from our collection of books, talking books, CDs, DVDs and Computer games
  • eBooks for two weeks and 5 eAudiobooks for three weeks

How long you can keep items

  • We issue books for three weeks, but you may keep them longer by renewing your items
  • CDs and DVDs may be hired for one week

Remember - You may have to pay a fine if you return an item late. Please see library charges for full details of fees and charges.

Please note our libraries have reduced their opening hours.  Before setting out to return your books please check your local library opening hours and when your mobile library will visit you.

You are not required to produce your library card to return items to the library. However your library card is needed for all other library transactions so we recommend that you always bring your library card with you.

You can reserve items through the online catalogue or in person at your local library. We will send you an automated message by phone, email or post when your reservation arrives.

Online self-reservations using online catalogue are free (limit of 10 in process at any one time).

If the book that you wish to borrow is not on our online catalogue, you can submit a book request, if it is in print, we will consider buying a copy for our stock.

If the book you wish to borrow is not in our online catalogue and is not in print or not included as part of our collection, it may be borrowed through out of county inter-library loan. There will be a charge for this service. 

Copies of Journal articles may also be requested in this way and the copy would be yours to keep. Please ask a member of staff.
