Volunteer with Cornwall Libraries

Cornwall Libraries are looking for volunteers in libraries across the County. Our opportunities are available to everyone, whatever your age, experience or time you have available.

Your time can make a difference in your library and help you to gain new skills. Cornwall Libraries are proud of our volunteers. We value and appreciate the contribution they make across our services.

The role of a volunteer is interesting and varied, you can:

  • assist customers to use our self-service machines and computers
  • help at story times and rhymetimes
  • support activities for children and adults

If you would like to volunteer at the following sites then please contact the site directly. These Libraries are managed by local councils.

Cornwall Libraries also supports the Early Years and Book Start Programme. If you have an interest in children's literature and would be interested in volunteering with the Early Years team within the St Austell area, then please contact for further information.

Another way you may like to volunteer is by becoming a Home Library Service Volunteer. The Home Library Service delivers books, befriending and more to people who can no longer get to the library because of health, mobility or caring responsibilities.
