Home Library Services
Unfortunately due to the continuing spread of Coronavirus, our library book delivery service is unable to run to full capacity. We hope to implement a reduced service in the near future but please note that reservations will take longer to arrive at libraries. Customers will be notified when items are available. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Could you be a Home Library Service Volunteer?
We urgently need people to help us to support those who cannot get to libraries. This is a vital service that we run in partnership with the Royal Voluntary Service in Cornwall. It is very rewarding and involves any or all of selecting, delivering and collecting books for someone who finds it difficult to get to the library.
Some of our customers would love to have someone to bring them to the library so that they can choose for themselves, others would use our online library catalogue to select themselves.
To express an interest in volunteering with the Home Library Service please contact: Sharon Skinner, Cornwall Home Library Service at: Sharon.skinner@royalvoluntaryservice.org.uk or alternatively give her a call on: 07714 898666
If you can’t get to us, the Home Library Service can bring the library to you – free!
It is for anyone who is unable to use the library because they have a disability, long-term illness or caring responsibilities which make it difficult for them to get out. Tell us the sort of books you like, and Royal Voluntary Service volunteers will deliver them to your home. Or tell us exactly which books you would like and we will do our best to get them for you - you can browse and reserve items yourself using our online library catalogue. You can choose from books in ordinary print or Large Print and audiobooks.
If you or someone you know would like to use this service, contact your local library or email:Sharon Skinner, Cornwall Home Library Service at: Sharon.skinner@royalvoluntaryservice.org.uk or alternatively give her a call on: 07714 898666
