We want more people to use sustainable transport because it supports healthy lifestyles and helps reduce:

  • air pollution
  • road casualties
  • carbon emissions
  • road congestion.

The Council's Local Transport Plan "Connecting Cornwall: 2030" published in 2011 sets out clear policies on reducing car use. It encourages use of more sustainable forms of transport up to 2030.

We are responding to these issues by working with employers, schools, colleges and universities to:

  • develop travel plans
  • promote car sharing
  • encourage active travel.

We also have own travel plan as well as site specific travel plans for some of its offices.
