School Travel Plans can help promote and identify ways to encourage more walking, cycling and using public transport to reduce car use. 

A School Travel Plan is an evolving document produced and supported by the whole school community. It sets out practical measures or initiatives for improving children's safety on the school journey and for reducing the number of car trips made to a school or group of schools.
